Chromated Coatings-Sealers

Kinds of Sealers:
Chromated Sealer
Chromate sealer is used for sealing (filling empty spaces) phosphated surfaces and is used as a finishing operation after phosphating.
Aluminum Chromate Conversion
The term chromating refers to the chemical treatment of metals and metal coatings in solutions in which chromium salts are the main component. The result of such an operation is the creation of a transformation protective coating consisting of trivalent and hexavalent chromium compounds on the metal surface.
This coating increases the adhesion of paint to the metal surface and increases the resistance to metal corrosion and is used to create a chromate coating on aluminum and galvanized surfaces.
The color and thickness of the chromate coatings are different based on the operating conditions. Especially the chemical composition, pH, temperature of the solution and duration of operation have decisive effects on them.
The most important purposes of using chromated metals are:
Increased metal corrosion resistance
Reduction of damage caused by surface scratches
Increasing the adhesion of paint and other organic coatings
Colorability or better acceptance
